Spirit Head The belief system
of the Shona people includes a definition for spirits of all kinds. This
hierarchy defines protective personal ancestor spirits as midzimu,
family spirits as vadzimu, the clan spirits as mhondoro and
Mwari as the God who created the sun, stars, and all things.
The world of spirit is recognized in a sacred reverent way. A nganga
is a person who intercedes on behalf of members of the community in spirit
world to help resolve the problems, which arise in daily life.
